|Dr. Thomas Duve
Southern Africa and Regional Funds, KfW Development Bank
Dr. Thomas Duve is Director of the Department “Southern Africa and Regional Funds” with a multisectoral portfolio of approximately 4 bn. Euro. His work centers on renewable energy and energy efficiency, HIV/AIDS, biodiversity and agricultural finance. He is chairman of the board of the “Africa Agriculture and Trade Investment Fund” (AATIF). Prior to that he worked in the West Africa division, in programme design for KfW’s housing and energy efficiency programmes in Germany and headed KfW’s Inhouse-Consulting Unit.
He joined KfW in 1995 after working in rural development projects with GIZ in Ghana and Burkina Faso from 1991 to 1994. He obtained a PhD-Degree based on research on plant diseases in South Korea and the Philippines.
