Yusuf Atiku Abdalla is a Ugandan national, with extensive experience as an economist and trade policy expert. His record of distinguished professional experience includes stints of public service at Uganda’s Ministry of Finance, Planning and Development; and at the Economic Research Department of the Central Bank of Uganda.
He has also been active in conducting independent research as well as providing high level consultancy services to a range of national and regional organizations in Eastern and Southern Africa, and international institutions. Yusuf completed his graduate studies in Applied Economics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
He also undertook advanced graduate training in energy economics and management at the University of Pennsylvania, before mastering trade policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is currently on assignment by the Commonwealth Secretariat, London as the Regional Trade Policy Advisor at the Secretariat of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Lusaka, Zambia,
